Pombo-McNerney Debate October 5

Here's some breaking news from Hank Shaw's blog:
Tracy Rep. Richard Pombo will debate Pleasanton wind energy consultant Jerry McNerney Oct. 5 at a forum sponsored by the Tracy Press. This could be the only debate of the campaign, so it should be enlightening. More details when I get 'em.
You know, I can think of a lot of words to describe what this debate might be like, but somehow I don't think "enlightening" would be anywhere near the top of my list. I'd be tempted to go with something a little closer to ultimate fighting.

Here is another well contrived idea of the Tracy Press, and the Stockton Record. Especially when Hank Shaw puts it on the blog. I think that they should have the debate in Pleasanton, away from Pombos controlled enviorment. This debate will serve only those Pombo supporters. Let them travel to the bay area, half wont even go. The Press along with Shaw and the Matthews bunch will not help the Mc Nerney camp. The question s will be slanted to help Pombo. To Robert Coglin Mc Nerney's new campaign advisor who I called last night and advised him not to participate in the forum in Tracy. I think it is a set up, and it needs to be in the bay area.

Vote Mc Nerney

I disagree. If McNerney has a chance of beating Pombo he will have to take votes away from Pombo in the Valley. McNerney needs to attack him on his own turf.

If I remember the reports correctly, the last time they debated in 2004, Jerry took Pombo to task on the various issues that he's failed to address in his tenure, leaving Pombo visibly shaken by the experience. It won't matter where the debate is held, as I expect Jerry to do the same this time around.

Let me tell you the experienced Mc Closkey Ex Congressman Lawyer and I Benigno a TV host and long time candidate tore the hell out of Pombo. The news papers made Pombo look like King Tut and that he was unscaved on every issue. Pete and I and our supporters know that was not true, but those in the Tracy area tell a different story. My name is out there on this race I say no. Tracy is a bad place for Jerry to be especially at a forum. I say move it to San Ramon or Dublin or Pleasanton. We shall see. Theres no dought that Jerry will handel himself well, but it's the Tracy Press who will help Pombo change this race into a Pombo event.

Lets get out a support Jerry Mc Nerney.
