Bush to Appear at Pombo Fundraiser October 3

Early this morning, the Sac Bee reported that George W. Bush would be appearing at a fundraiser for Rep. John Doolittle. Buried in the story was this nugget:
Doolittle said Bush will also attend a fundraiser for Rep. Richard Pombo, R-Tracy, earlier that day, but that could not be immediately confirmed by the Pombo campaign or the White House.
Now TV station KESQ has confirmed the story:
Bush will appear at a fundraising lunch for Doolittle October third at the Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills. He'll do a breakfast for Pombo on the same trip.
The earlier Sac Bee article quoted Sarah Feinberg, spokeswoman for the DCCC, on the significance of this presidential appearance:
”The president raises money for candidates who are most vulnerable or need cash infusions,” she said.
Last week, I wrote about Pombo’s attempts to distance himself from Bush and his plummeting popularity. Now apparently he's so desperate that he has no choice but to appear side-by-side with the man. No wonder he looks so miserable in this picture.

This should be entertaining.

[UPDATE:] This is from Associated Press: “The Pombo fundraiser will be held at Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium.”

According to the Defenders poll, In a question asking voters whether they intend to re-elect Pombo or vote for someone else... only 35% say they intend to vote for Pombo.

Richard Pombo's grandma told him a lot of stories. Apparently she forgot to tell him the one that money can't buy you love.

This photo is an old one, but it servers a purpose. I think George knows he needs to screw Richard Pombo's head on stright. What this group of Republicans have done to the Republican party will effect them for the next 40 years. I hope the renewed interst in someone running in 2008 does not leave the party scratching their heads. They may decide to vote Democratic to assure they can get an honest President. I think they need to be smart as well. Who do we have out there. Maybe many other Republican out there will join me,in making the right decessions.

Thanks for reading

"a million dollar warchest" sounds impressive, but all it is money and all it can be used for is to spread more Pombo bullshit, and voters are getting tired of the stink.

The truth about this corrupt sleazeball is getting out, and a million dollars is not going to wash away the mounds of manure around him.

Are we gonna protest? Please say we are!!! I love to protest. And this war-mongering president who hates our brothers in Islam is perfect to protest. He's such a macho Texas type...just like Pombo. Jerry's got that Alan Alda approach that I love.

For Abbie: When Rich Pombo was a young guy on the farm, he was a meek little guy. His dad taught him well on how to be a gettelman. Although he had a couple of uncles who taught him how to be the other guy. To say that George W Bush is like Pombo is an insult to the Bush family. Pombo is the Immulator, he likes to give the impression that he is in control. If you look close you can see he has strings coming out of his head. That's why Bush is rewinding Pombo 's head in the photo on the web site. Like a Charlie Mc Carthy or maybe more like Mortermer Snerd.

Get out and put a real Gentelman in Congress, Vote Mc Nerney.

Did anyone get the latest hit piece by NRCC. They say we have 11 million illegals in the United states. They also say that Jerry Mc Nerney supports Illegal Immigration and he will make it worst, by using your tax money to reward illegal aliens with social security , medicare and even food stamps. Excuse me Mr. Bush who was the one that allowed the flood gate to open on the borders. Who was the one that wanted more guest workers and said we need these people. Bush is the answer, who else wanted the bill #359 for more illegals to pass. Then who said we need to pass #4437 and put all the employers in jail for hireing illegas. The answer is clear, Richard Pombo and his friend G.W, Bush. When they attact Jerry Mc Nerney about changing his answers," Wow". Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. So Pombo as the old song says good night sweet heart, well it's time to goe.

Vote for Jerry MC Nerney.

Mc Mohr: read the statement slowly the Republican hit piece says that not Mc Nerney. The hit piece is saying Mc Nerney is supporting the illegals. What is really happening is they are accusing, Jerry of supporting the issue. He does not. Don't believe the piece, that is damage control for Bush and Pombo, why do you think Bush is comming to Stockton Ca.

Vote for Mc Nerney.

Babaloo
The poll that you reference is from May 10, 2006 -- kinda old info don't yot think? Also, according to the link

"In head-to-head match-ups, Pombo loses to Steve Filson 49% to 41% and to Jerry McNerney 46% to 42%"

This just proves that the DCCC was correct in backing Filson as the "more viable candidate".

Not sure this is something we want to be highlighting...

The Defenders poll that I cited is the only one that has been released to the public to date. Obviously, Pombo has done internal polling since that time. I'm confidant that if the results of that polling had been favorable to Pombo, he would have made it public. But the silence from the Pombo camp is deafening.

Meanwhile, your assertions about Filson, McNerney and the DCCC merely set up a straw man. The bottom line is that both candidates for the Democratic nomination led Pombo in that poll.

The fact that Pombo and the NRCC have been compelled to just straight-up lie about McNerney's position on immigration in the wake of Pombo's flip-flop-flip on the issue is similarly telling.

Now Pombo needs Bush to come in and raise money for him so he can spread more scurrilous lies about McNerney. Nice candidate you have there. You must be so proud.

If Bush likes Stockton so well and he feels he must come to Stockton to help Pombo. Where was Bush and Pombo when Gary Podesto ran against Mike Machado, for the Senate. Gary Podesto lost the race because Pombo would not help Podesto, because of strange alliance with Mike Machado. The Republicans spent the tune of 5 million on that race. More than Pombo spent in all his races in the last 10 years. Just a point of interest, Pombo should not be able to spend the money he received from Abramoff. No one talks about that.

JUST SOME OBSERVATIONS.

VOTE AMERICAN VOTE MC NERNEY.
