The delta blues

The primary is over and the real fight begins. Mostly, I want to thank Pete McCloskey for having the courage to start down this path and the stamina to stay with it. Lesser men would have done neither. Long may the Revolt of the Elders continue.

I think that Delta is going to take a long swim. May even get down to the bay. But the fight will go on and new things will appear in different places so keep a look out. There seems to be a general consensus that all Congressmen are crooks, except for the one I voted for. He can't be a crook or that would make me an accomplice.

Maybe the Republican Party has so lost its moral compass that it can not be repaired. Maybe it is time for it to be replaced, as the Republicans replaced the Whigs when they lost their vision. What emerged then was a new Republican Party led by Henry Clay and a young lawyer from Illinois. Voters that did not join the Republicans, most went to the Know-Nothings, which is an apt description for what remains of the DeLay leadership team. When people challenge them on corruption and pay for access, they all say "I know noghing about....".

If there was a failure here, it was not Pete's. It is a failure that the rest of us could not deliver the voters to the polls.

I know that some trolls are dropping hooks in the water, trying to catch me. There have been multiple attempts to compromise my password on blogger over the last two days. Well, I hope your line breaks, sucker.

I agree, Pombo is ripe for defeat this November. Check out these numbers:

District 11 - Democratic 100.0% ( 642 of 642 ) precincts reporting

Filson 10,539 28.5

Thomas 7,007 18.9

McNerney 19,408 52.6

District 11 - Republican 100.0% ( 642 of 642 ) precincts reporting

Benigno 2,676 5.7

Mc Closkey 14,856 32.0

Pombo 28,944 62.3

That's 37,000 Votes for Democratic candidates. Pombo got 29,000. If McNerney can win a simple majority of McCloskey's votes he will win. That's a good possibility since McCloskey ran as the anti-Pombo. Plus turnout will be higher, esp among Dems and Independents, in November.

Citygod - you're a skyscraper of a moron. 90% of those McCloskey and Benigno votes vill revert back to Pombo in the general. Count on it. And count on the GOP making Pelosi and issue, as in "Do you want Nancy Pelosi to be Speaker of the House?" Making her leader was a great gift to the GOP. When will we learn?

Hey Gang:
I can assure that the people who voted for me won't vote for Pombo. Pete said he would not vote for Pombo, his voter were democrats who changed to Republicans. In the general his voters will go to Mc Nerney. Voter turn out was at a 17% all time low, in the San Joaquin County even Pombos people didn't vote. That tells me I know that at least 10,000 people didn't vote for me. But we know that 50,000 people didn't vote for Pombo. He may have to spend all that money that Abramoff gave him. I think he beat himself, it up to you to finish him off.

Thank

Hello Everyone. Why is it that you are waisting so much time, starting to campaign. If you are to distroy Pombo you had better start on it today. Don't let the critic's tell you that negative campaigning does not work. They know how to spin it, for them selves. Pombo received 100's of thousands, and it was ok. Mc Closley get's $2.100 and he's a crook, I don't advertise for money I'm a looser. Hank Shaw must have got paid real well for that.

Hello All:
If you read the Stockton Record today's edition, you see where Mc Closkey speeks of his loss to Pombo. I can't understand why he is caveing into the idea that he was beat before the election day. He speaks about the support from the farmers being his weak link in the election. I agree with him but only because they don't care about one on the other side of the hill. Farmers continue to forget those are the people who buy the houses and the food they produce. Mc Closkey forgot that he was a farmer first then a statesman second. But his biggest fault was that he was an attorney. I didn't mind loosing to him and Pombo, but he keeps talking about how he tried to get someone to run against Pombo. That comment suggest to the media that some how I was not a part of the race. Pete needs to remember, anyone can beat anyone any time. Even Pete Mc Closkey, and Richard Pombo.

Hello: To all out there that care. I want everyone to know that I had nothing to do with Mc Closkey's campaign. In fact he didn't want me to run, I have witnesses to that. Pombo would not debate me and I asked Mc Closkey if he wanted to do some forums with me. We did about 7 and 3 of those were televised. I just want everyone to know that we did not agree on many things. I ran against Pombo for the second time as a Republican because I did not think he was a good Republican. I still don't? Mc Closkey was a better Democrat then he was a Republican. So if many of you out there are pissed at me for running against Pombo as a Repub lican, That's the name of the game.
Maybe I would have been better off away from Mc Closkey.
