It is time to go

Washington Monthly claims to be the "most insightful magazine on politics and government in America." If that is true, then you should pay attention to the series of positions that they ran under the collective heading "Time for us to go." The list of contributors includes Joe Scarborough of MSNBC's Scarborough Country, Chrisopher Buckley and Willam A. Niskanen, chairman of the Cato Institute and was a former member and acting chairman of President Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers. All are influential conservative, Republican figures and they all seem to saying that a split in government, with different parties holding sway in the Executive and Legislative branches, or even between the Senate and House of Representatives, just may be good for the country.

This is the same action that Pete McCloskey has been talking about since endorsing McNerney. Each man has a slightly different reason, but the results are the same. For any Republican reading this blog, and I am an ex-Republican myself, it is time that you understand McCloskey was not the Democrat in Republican Dress as the Pombo Campaign tried to protray him. He was, in fact, in the vanguard of Conservative thinking. To all of you Republcans who, like McCloskey and Benigno, who have had the isight to recognize the abuses of power from the current Republican leadership, who have had the will to break with those who have defamed both this country and a one-time great political party, I urge you to do more than just vote for Jerry McNerney. Bring another Republican into the fold and understand that you may just be saving this county.
