Upcoming Events

We have not had a list of upcoming events since the primary was over. Let me post a couple here, and then perhaps we can make this an open list where others can post the events that they know about.

I would like to start with a couple of events sponsored by We the People. (That is a nice word in a district where the operative phrase has been "screw the people.")

Event:
A Community Leaders and Advocates Town Hall Meeting "Our Town: Washington, D.C. Corruption Hits Home" with Special Guest Congressman Pete McCloskey (Ret.) and a special screening of "The Big Buy: Tom Delay's Stolen Congress"
This will be done twice, once in San Ramon and once in Stockton.
Venues:
    Tri-Valley/Diablo Valley Event
Monday, August 14, 2006, from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
San Ramon Community Center
12501 Alcosta Boulevard
San Ramon, CA 94583
Contact info: (925) 577-6635 or aborelli@wtpi.org

San Joaquin County Event
Tuesday, August 15, 2006, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Empire Theatre
1825 Pacific Avenue
Stockton, CA 95204
Contact phone: (916) 834-6597 or asisneroz@wtpi.org
If any of you thought that Pete McCloskey had faded away, guess again. Does anyone else have something to post, announce?

They're good people:

“Connecticut should have its statehood taken away from it. The foolishness of its pampered residents should be demonstrated to others by a government program to bulldoze the entire state, salt the land and construct a windfarm to supply NYC with electricity. And its residents should be relocated to Guantanamo Bay where they can take a number behind the 3 who hung themselves this weekend, since they seem so intent on suicide.”
-- Daniel Kish, a senior adviser to Pombo, in an email

In fairness, he was upset over a Connecticut editorial that was opposed to ANWR drilling. You know how irritating that can be.

I'm a native of California and have been here for 70 years. I don't want no drilling off my California coast, or in ANWAR no matter what Pombo say's is good for us. As for that last post I don't understand Gibberish. No wonder Pombo's going down the wrong road Daniel Kish don't speak Californian.
