Pombo McCloskey Debate next Monday
Please join the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund at next Monday's debate between Richard Pombo, Pete McCloskey, and Tom Benigno. Yes, that's right, Pombo has finally agreed to debate.
The May 15 debate sponsored by the Tracy Press will start at 7:00 and is schedule to go until 8:30m. at Williams Middle School, 1600 Tennis Lane in Tracy. It is free and open to the public.
Our new district coordinator, Ed Yoon, will be working to get lots of people to this event. We will try to coordinate some carpooling and a pickup at the Pleasanton BART. If you plan on going, or need help getting there, please email me at email@example.com.
What a perfect contrast. Pete McCloskey, a common sense republican who created the Endangered Species Act, versus Richard Pombo, the man who is trying to eviscerate ESA to benefit his lobbyist backers.
Come join us at this debate. Pombo doesn't open himself to questions often.
And yes, I did mention that Ed Yoon will be running our Pleasanton office. I worked with Ed in 2004, when we were both with the League of Conservation Voters. Ed did a great job running our canvass efforts in Oregon. I know he will do a great job here in California.
Ed will be arriving in the district later this week. He will be looking for a place to stay and start setting up the office. I'll post the office number and his email as soon as they're set up.
